Introduced in 2005, the Portmeirion A Christmas Story Series 4 dinnerware continues the beloved collection created by artist Susan Winget. Inspired by the "T'was the Night Before Christmas," the handsome pieces feature colorful storybook-style images bordered by verses from the famous poem. The design creates a warm and festive mood, and its lovely details will enchant new and returning dinner guests.

This set of four salad plates features merry images of holiday wreaths and the Jolly Old Elf himself with sacks of toys and a charming sleigh. A border of holly and a dark red rim complete the design. Crafted from fine translucent porcelain, the plates are substantial in weight and safe in the dishwasher, oven, and microwave. They measure 8 inches in diameter, making them suitable for appetizers and dessert as well. Coordinating place setting pieces and serveware are also available. --Emily Bedard

Great Christmas dishes January 7, 2008

Last year I bought the dinner size Port Merion Christmas dishes for a friend at a major departmant store in New York. I wanted the dessert size this year and they were unavailable. I then thought to look on the internet. Again I was saved by Amazon.com. Not only did they have them, they were well priced, and shipped quickly at a reasonable price. Thanks for help with my Christmas shopping.
