2 out of 5 stars Let it Rot   December 11, 2008

"Let it Rock" has a beat, and that's about it. The Kevin Rudolf/Lil' Wayne duet is catchy enough. It makes good background music... provided it stays in the background. Actually paying attention to it has too high a mental cost. Kevin Rudolf isn't the usual singer;he reminds me more of Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live. Lil' Wayne,as usual, throws in a completely useless rap. Rap has become ubiquitous. It gets paired with anything (is Enya next? What about Il Divo,Rhydian,Celtic Woman or Yo-Yo Ma?) Hopefully this fad will be rickrolled.

2 out of 5 stars Lil' Wayne Is The Andy Dick of the Musical World   November 23, 2008

"Let It Rock" is basically what a good Jonas Brothers would sound like with it's brand of 'tween rock.' It's good to play up loud, and the music keeps you interested. Sure it's not very original, but it's at least fun for a small period of time. On it's own, the Kevin Rudolf part of the song gets 4-stars.

However, like when Andy Dick walks into a room, when Lil' Wayne raps on a song, everybody seems to run out of the room screaming "CRAP-ALEART!" All those however forced to listen to the party killer are forced to endure annoying torture not seen since the days of "MmmBop." Hopefully, if Barack has to dismantle Gitmo, he'll take Andy Dick, Lil' Wayne and "MmmBop" with it. Lil' Wayne = -2-stars.

Overall, a potentially 4-star effort downgraded to 2-star, which is probably what the whole song would deserve in a month or two. Either way, for a party or two, it might be ok, but listened to in large amounts would probably be very unfortunate. Listen at your own risk with every new listen.
