In '03,a little band from Down Under,Jet,jetted onto the pop scene with this annoying song "Will you be my girl?" It begins with the lead clearing his throat,random riffing... it's supposed to be good ol' garage rock,in the style of Iggy Pop when he began in Detroit.

"Will you be my girl?",for all its supposed creativity,has every romantic cliche in the songbook. The woman in question has "long dark hair/big tall boots"... it makes Prince's "Raspberry Beret" sound different,innovative,and good (which it is) It ends with the front man desperately screaming,"Won't you be my grrrrl???" No way.
