5 out of 5 stars Who doesn't like spots?   July 9, 2008

This book is amazingly awesome! I purchased it along with Blue 2 for my nephew and niece but in the mean time shared it with my neighbors and the neighborhood kids. Everyone from age 4 up to age 64 just loved it! A book not only for kids, this book will make a great gift for your designer friends and any adult who can appreciate an alternative presentation of something seemingly as mundane as a spot!

Fantastic, clever book. I'm sure my grandchildren will enjoy it - if I ever can part with it.

Fascinating artwork. A great piece of art doesn't have to hang in a museum. This book gives enjoyment to whoever opens it. Keep it close by so your guests can open it and be amazed and you'll enjoy it again every time they do.

1 out of 5 stars Cannot compare to Robert Sabuda pop-up books   May 1, 2008

This book was terribly disappointing. The pop-ups are not particularly visually stimulating (nothing hidden for which to search). The paper is flimsy and did not hold up to children 1-3 years old who wanted to touch and pull on the pop-ups. The book is not of the calibur of a Robert Sabuda pop-up. Two thumbs down.

1 out of 5 stars I'm definately in the minority...   April 9, 2008

Well, I'm half afraid to say this since I've read every review of this book and I am definately in the minority on this one. I hated this book. I just didn't get it. I expected to be on a little scavenger hunt looking for 600 black dots but every page told you how many dots there were. Some of the crazy words. Looking for a red dot! It stood out like a sore thumb!
I originally got this for my 2 granddaughters ages 2 & 4, but after opening it up and looking through it twice and showing it to my daughter-in-law to see if I was missing the point of it, we both agreed it was BORING! I feel it's even too boring to give to my library. It was too late to send it back, so it's laying on my dresser waiting for someone to like it, but it sure isn't going to be any of us! Save your money on this one. Instead buy a mini pop-up book called "Winter in White". We loved it!
