Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor. She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept...But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

5 out of 5 stars Love the WereHunters   August 8, 2008

Well, I love the werehunters so this is one of my favorite books of Sherrilyn's. The characters are intense and well thought out. Can't wait for the next one!

5 out of 5 stars Another winner for Sherrilyn...Another Awesome Lead Character!   July 18, 2008

Was dissappointed in the last book but was glad to see that SK stepped it up with this novel. Vane is an Awesome lead character! Sexy and Dark. Plus he likes thicker women! Not all of us are a size 2. Looking forward to reading the next!

5 out of 5 stars Vane, what a white wolf he be....   June 8, 2008

Vane and Bride are my favorite only because he's a wolf that likes meat on his bones. Mr. Kattalakis come my way. Kenyon just keep out doing herself. Can't wait to Fang and Aimee come in to play, and would love to know who is Fury's mate.

5 out of 5 stars ALWAYS TOP ON MY LIST!!!   May 24, 2008

One of my favorite books of the series, I've read it 3 times. Bride is the cute chubby girl, like me!!! And Vane is the hot wolf(my hubby's middle name is Wolf). I love the banter between them and I love the way Vane tries sooo hard to please her. As always this series Rocks, but start at the beginning so you'll know what is going on! See my Listmania to find out what order to read!!!

5 out of 5 stars Don't we all at least secretly wish.....   January 21, 2008

I've got all the dark-hunter series books and while I love all 11 (though SK did have a lull around books 9 & 10), this is by far my favourite. My sister, best friend and I were talking about this book during a girls night the other saturday.... If you're larger than average, plainer than average, have an illness/disability/are less than physically "acceptable" don't you have the fantasy of some wonderful man who sees past that to the woman inside? Even in fiction it doesn't happen too often, which one would think would be the easiest place to find it - after all fiction, especially romance fiction is really all about fantasy. Well Sherrilyn Kenyon is one who does it. In Talon & Sunshine's story we get a rather curvy girl and here in Vane & Bride story she takes it one step further, specifying an actual size 18 heroine.

Bride is lovely - tall, pretty and rubinesque with a good heart. She's also got a few foibles about a drop dead gorgeous man falling so quickly for her. But, fall Vane does - he's been slightly obsessed with her since seeing her some 8 months before this book begins (see afore mentioned Talon's story). Vane is just about perfect: he's gorgeous, madly in love with woman Bride is, gentle with a woman while delightfully randy at the same time, and protective of her to the point that he's prepared to walk away and live the years of the rest of her life celibate rather than dragging her into his rather dangerous dysfunctional world. I just love his explanation of the difference between love vs lust.

I adore the characters in this story, who wouldn't want to be part of Bride's circle of friends (the knee-capping offer particularly amused me). Bride's lovely mum, dad and brother, even her slightly nasty sister ring true in the way of family dynamics (my relationship with my sister was a bit like that for quite a few years). The "wolf boys" (Vane, Fang & Fury) are fantastic, comical and heartwarming. (An aside... Can't wait for more of these yummy guys stories).

I do not agree with the reviewers claiming Bride's too whiney etc about her size - anyone with the slightest concerns of self image would have a few worries with the start of a new relationship and I love the way Bride gains confidence through the progression of the story - to the point of a knock-down-drag-out confrontation with Vane's rather psychotic mother. Go girl!

Read this book. It might just make you giggle, get teary-eyed and believe that we all deserve a happy ever after.
