Adorable, but very hard to use as hooks September 12, 2008

My son LOVES trains, so I thought this would be perfect for coat hooks for him. The pieces are adorable, and the hooks can be optionally screwed on.

If you want to use this just for art, without the hooks, or use the hooks for display purposes, this is PERFECT.

However, I wanted to use this for everyday coat/lunch box/etc use. The back of the pieces go on to the wall with the standard picture frame type hook--the whole piece would half pull off the wall every time you tried to take a coat, etc, off the hook. In the end I had to drill holes through the 3 pieces so I could screw the train pieces themselves into the wall.

Bottom line: Great for display. If you want the hooks to be functional, plan to do a little drilling.
